Vlogger pranks homeless man into thinking he’s won $1000. Then he goes back and does this.

YouTube prankster Rahat Hossain of “Magic of Rahat” decided to give a homeless man by the name of Eric a fake winning lottery ticket.

Little did Eric know, the store clerk was in on the prank as well.

Rahat found Eric at his regular spot in a parking lot, and said that while he had no money to give him, he had a “winning lottery ticket” he could give him that Eric could cash in.

Eric was unbelievably shy and humble, and only agreed to take the ticket after Rahat had done much convincing.

Once in the store, Eric couldn’t believe it when the clerk told him that he had won $1,000.

He double and triple checked that the winnings were correct, watching the clerk count out the money for him in absolute disbelief.

With the money fresh in his shaking hands, the first thing Eric tried to do was give half of the winnings back to Rahat, who of course, refused to take it.

After multiple attempts to “share it” with his new friend to no avail, Eric burst into tears and the two embraced as his thank you. It was touching to see a man with nothing trying to offer something to someone else as if he felt he didn’t deserve it.

Through a face of tears, Eric and Rahat left the store and stood out on the street and Eric said, “I’ve been doing this for a long time… a long time…and I never, never had a friend, had somebody to do what you just did back there. Never.”

It was disheartening—to millions—to believe that for so long Eric has sat in that very spot outside and never experienced any act of kindness, and then something like this comes along.

Such a generous heart and genuine soul in Eric managed to captivate a huge audience on the YouTube channel, with the video gaining over 27 million views and over 500,000 comments.

People were inspired and touched by Eric and wanted to help him further.

After people were so touched with Eric’s selfless nature, they pledged to send him money.

Since then, Rahat decided to try and raise $20,000 to put a roof over Eric’s head.

In a crazy turn of events, they managed to crowdfund over $44,000, which was well over the amount needed to purchase Eric a house and help rebuild his life.

And then it was time for the surprise.

Once again, Eric was overwhelmed with tears of happiness and disbelief at the immense act of kindness which has permanently changed his life for the better.

Since the money raised was well over the required amount, the excess will go into a bank account that Rahat is helping Eric to manage, and will be used towards paying rent, as well as bills such as electricity and water, and buying food and clothes.

Eric now has millions of people who care for him and one great friend in Rahat. Kind of restores your faith in humanity, doesn’t it?

It’s a beautiful ending to what started out as a simple prank, and just goes to show what the power of the people can do to change people’s lives.
